The Vitamix was always being out performed by the Blendtec Total Blender whenever the two were being compared. The Blendtec was said to have the ability to fit on a counter with low cabinets above it. The Vitamix was too tall to fit into a small space.
The Total Blender is high-tech with a smooth, modern design that is easy to clean. The profile is compact, allowing it to easily fit under the lowest cabinetry. It takes the Blendtec sixty seconds to make a creamy smoothie using the button for whole juice. I thought about this eliminating much of the cost associated with purchasing so many frozen treats for the kids since we could utilize fruits and vegetables that we already have on hand.
The Blendtec Total Blender outperforms the Bamix Immersion Blender when it comes to blending Kale and chard as well as pineapples and greens since it does not leave chunks behind. The proper ingredients mean that even children will try these nutritious treats without complaint.
The Cuisinart Food Processor does not blend garbanzo beans as well as this blender when it comes to making items such as hummus or dips, making party preparation quicker and easier. Smart Touch Technology allows the Blendtec blender to perform a number of functions. The buttons are smooth allowing for just a touch of the finger to activate them. This also helps with cleaning the machine, as the front surface is smooth and no food can get stuck under the buttons.
The motor base has a toggle switch for power on the back of it. The buttons for smart touch allow you to pulse, slow down and speed up the machine. There are also six buttons that include the ability to set the machine for a smoothie, whole juice, milkshake or crushed ice, frozen yogurt or ice cream, dips and even soups.

There is a lifetime warranty on the blade of the Blendtec Total Blender.
The blending of both wet and dry ingredients can be done without the need for a separate jar unlike the Vitamix blender which takes a second jar. There is a three year warranty offered on the base and motor of the Blendtec while the Vitamix 5200 offers a seven year warranty but this does not distract from my recommendation of the Blendtec any day of the week.
The Blendtec Blender Is Well Worth The Price
The Blendtec website sells the machine for approximately $400 while the cost of the Vitamix is approximately $486 after shipping and taxes are added. The cost of the Vitamix does not include the $129 you will spend on the container for use with dry ingredients.
The Vitamix 5200 only has two peak horsepower compared to the three peak horsepower of the Blendtec Total Blender and weights almost eleven pounds, making it much less convenient to travel with when compared to the less than seven pounds the Blendtec weighs.
The Blendtec is less than sixteen inches tall while the Vitamiz 5200 is almost twenty-one inches making it easier to fit under a counter with low cabinets. The blendtec is rather easy to use but it does not have cord storage, although it is quieter than the Vitamix when it comes to noise levels. Other blenders have a high/low variable but there are six one touch buttons in addition to the high/low variable on this blender.
An awesome manual and recipe book is included with the Blendtec blender. This machine gives you the ability to make bread dough, ground fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts without leaving chunks behind. There are also recipes included to make getting started with the blender easier as you get used to having a restaurant quality machine in your kitchen.
My Final Recommendation – Blendtec For The Win
